Millwork:

Maple, figured anigre, and stainless steel accent the interior of the new ten-story University of Massachusetts Medical School Research Building. The two-story lobby features a central staircase and ornamental woodwork; the massive maple handrail was created by using a template taken from the metal staircase framework which was already in place. The lobby is complemented by a three-story atrium with floor-to-ceiling wood paneling and serpentine banquettes. Each elevator lobby and research lab entrance is outfitted with maple trim and paneling. The executive offices continue this motif and also feature wood-paneled conference rooms and custom office furniture. Iaccarino's most complex job to date, the timeline for completion of the intricate lobby and atrium segments of the project was suddenly compressed from twelve to only six weeks.

When Columbia University's Butler Library restored its distinguished reading rooms, they required classic detailing using architectural-grade ornamental woodwork. Employing materials from knotty pine to white oak to walnut, the restoration project required thousands of square feet of paneling and custom ornamental moldings to match original wood details. Restoration crews and Iaccarino craftspeople quickly established a precise choreography that kept everyone in step and the project on schedule.

This architect designed kitchen combines cottage style detailing with unique wood counters and modern appliances. The maple wall cabinets are painted inside and out in white semi-gloss enamel and integrate handblown antique glass panes. The similarly painted floor cabinets are capped with a 2" thick mahogany counter top that is finished with a high-gloss marine varnish. The room, paneled in painted maple wainscotting, features a center island topped with a massive 5'x 9' mahogany counter top; the island integrates plumbing, electrical, and storage components. Iaccarino also crafted an entertainment center, built-in shelving and storage areas throughout the house, as well as a custom kitchen desk area.

Millwork:

The simple lines and timeless elegance of the Japanese aesthetic were captured in paneling and other woodwork for the re-design of Japan Society's interior bamboo courtyard and executive offices. European steamed beech, suspended from aluminum channels, was combined with aluminum Art Deco accents to complement the lounge's bright and spacious environment. Iaccarino also fashioned lightweight but highly durable Shoji screens for the building's administrative offices.
